| PetroChem Inspection Services News |
2008 proved to be a busy year for PetroChem Inspection Services, Inc., a subsidiary of TÜV SÜD America Inc. On May 29, 2008, the company relocated its Corporate Headquarters to Pasadena, Texas. Previously headquartered in Houston, PetroChem's new office location will allow the company to expand as the result of future organic growth. The 21,000-square-foot facility includes 11,000 square feet of office space and a 10,000-square-foot workshop area. The move brought PetroChem closer to many of their local customers along with strategically situating the main corporate office within a prime industrial area for the refining and chemical industries. The new Corporate Headquarters address is: PetroChem Inspection Services, Inc. The company will be hosting an Open House at their new office location, inviting customers to tour the facility, enjoy a catered lunch, and see hands-on demonstrations for PetroChem's current and upcoming new services. Originally planned for September 17th and 18th, the Open House was postponed due to Hurricane Ike. A new date for the rescheduled event will be announced in the near future. In addition to a physical office move, PetroChem has been rolling out a suite of new services. Helium Leak Mass Spectrometer Testing (MSTL) was added to their inspection service line in June 2008. As a complement to the full-service Tank Inspection Service Line, MSLT can provide additional assurance that tank bottom welds and/or plates are liquid-tight prior to returning the tank to service. Additional services including Tank Calibration, Positive Material Identification (PMI), CR Welding, Phased Array, Saturation Low Frequency Eddy Current (SLOFEC), and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) are planned for the beginning of 2009.
